Metabolite Identification
Common NamePseudoecgonyl-CoA
DescriptionPseudoecgonyl-CoA belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzenesulfonamides. These are organic compounds containing a sulfonamide group that is S-linked to a benzene ring. Thus, pseudoecgonyl-CoA is considered to be a fatty ester. Pseudoecgonyl-CoA has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as anatidaes (Anatidae), chickens (Gallus gallus), and domestic pigs (Sus scrofa domestica). This could make pseudoecgonyl-CoA a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Pseudoecgonyl-CoA.
