Metabolite Identification
Common Name7-Galloylcatechin
Description7-Galloylcatechin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as catechin gallates. These are organic compounds containing a gallate moiety glycosidically linked to a catechin. 7-Galloylcatechin has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as teas (Camellia sinensis), herbs and spices, herbal tea, red tea, and black tea. This could make 7-galloylcatechin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 7-Galloylcatechin.
