Metabolite Identification
Common NameTyphaneoside
DescriptionTyphaneoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Typhaneoside has been detected, but not quantified in, ginkgo nuts (Ginkgo biloba) and narrowleaf cattails (Typha angustifolia). This could make typhaneoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Typhaneoside.
