Description | 2-Methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)thiazole belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles. 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles are compounds containing a thiazole ring substituted at the positions 2 and 3. 2-Methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)thiazole has been detected, but not quantified in, a few different foods, such as common mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus), mushrooms, and oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus). This could make 2-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)thiazole a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2-Methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)thiazole. |
