DescriptionAcetylpanaxydol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as carboxylic acid esters. These are carboxylic acid derivatives in which the carbon atom from the carbonyl group is attached to an alkyl or an aryl moiety through an oxygen atom (forming an ester group). Acetylpanaxydol has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as black tea, green tea, herbal tea, red tea, and teas (Camellia sinensis). This could make acetylpanaxydol a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Acetylpanaxydol.
