Description Estradiol gulcuronide is believed to play important roles in the mechanism of 17beta-estradiol(E2)-mediated tumor formation. Conjugation with glucuronic acid lowers tissue levels by facilitating excretion.The heterotropic activation by daidzein appears to be specific for the glucuronidation of E2 because daidzein did not affect the glucuronidation of the 2- and 4-hydroxy metabolites of E2. (PMID: 16598814)

This isozyme is active on polyhydroxylated estrogens (such as estriol, 4-hydroxyestrone and 2-hydroxyestriol) and xenobiotics (such as 4-methylumbelliferone, 1-naphthol, 4- nitrophenol, 2-aminophenol, 4-hydroxybiphenyl and menthol). It is capable of 6 alpha-hydroxyglucuronidation of hyodeoxycholic acid
