With the consumption of cocoa powder and chocolate (solid). Participants have diabetes mellitus or more than three cardiovascular risk factors: tobacco smoking, hypertension, LDL cholesterol ≥ 160 mg/dL, HDL cholesterol ≤ 35 mg/dL,overweight or obesity (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2), and/or family history of premature coronary heart disease. Exclusion criteria included documented coronary heart disease, stroke or peripheral arteriopathy, as well as a history of allergic reactionsto any cocoa components
