DescriptionBismuth Subsalicylate, also known as pink bismuth or pepto-bismol, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzenoids. These are aromatic compounds containing one or more benzene rings. Bismuth Subsalicylate is a drug which is used to treat nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea, and other temporary discomforts of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract. Bismuth Subsalicylate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). A bismuth salt of salicylic acid.
