These are organic compounds containing at least two flavan/flavone units. These units are usually linked through CC or C-O-C bonds. Some examples include C2-O-C3, C2-O-C4, C3'-C3''', and C6-C8''. 6-(3-{4-[2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-8-yl]-3,7-dihydroxy-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-2-yl}phenoxy)-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxane-2-carboxylic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). It is generated by UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1-1 (P22309) enzyme via an aromatic-OH-glucuronidation reaction. This aromatic-OH-glucuronidation occurs in humans. 6-(3-{4--3,7-dihydroxy-3,4-dihydro-2h-1-benzopyran-2-yl}phenoxy)-3,4,5-trihydroxyoxane-2-carboxylic acid is a predicted metabolite generated by BioTransformer¹ that is produced by the metabolism of 8--2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2h-1-benzopyran-3,5,7-triol.
