Common NameSialyl Lewis x antigen
Description2-{[3,5-dihydroxy-2-({6-hydroxy-5-[(1-hydroxyethylidene)amino]-2-(hydroxymethyl)-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]oxan-3-yl}oxy)-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-4-yl]oxy}-4-hydroxy-5-[(1-hydroxyethylidene)amino]-6-(1,2,3-trihydroxypropyl)oxane-2-carboxylic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as n-acylneuraminic acids. These are neuraminic acids carrying an N-acyl substituent. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2-{[3,5-dihydroxy-2-({6-hydroxy-5-[(1-hydroxyethylidene)amino]-2-(hydroxymethyl)-4-[(3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl)oxy]oxan-3-yl}oxy)-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-4-yl]oxy}-4-hydroxy-5-[(1-hydroxyethylidene)amino]-6-(1,2,3-trihydroxypropyl)oxane-2-carboxylic acid. This compound has been identified in human blood as reported by (PMID: 31557052 ). Sialyl lewis x antigen is not a naturally occurring metabolite and is only found in those individuals exposed to this compound or its derivatives. Technically Sialyl Lewis x antigen is part of the human exposome. The exposome can be defined as the collection of all the exposures of an individual in a lifetime and how those exposures relate to health. An individual's exposure begins before birth and includes insults from environmental and occupational sources.
