Common Name17-Epimethyltestosterone
Description14-hydroxy-2,14,15-trimethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]heptadec-6-en-5-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as androgens and derivatives. These are 3-hydroxylated C19 steroid hormones. They are known to favor the development of masculine characteristics. They also show profound effects on scalp and body hair in humans. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 14-hydroxy-2,14,15-trimethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]heptadec-6-en-5-one. This compound has been identified in human blood as reported by (PMID: 31557052 ). 17-epimethyltestosterone is not a naturally occurring metabolite and is only found in those individuals exposed to this compound or its derivatives. Technically 17-Epimethyltestosterone is part of the human exposome. The exposome can be defined as the collection of all the exposures of an individual in a lifetime and how those exposures relate to health. An individual's exposure begins before birth and includes insults from environmental and occupational sources.
