Metabolite Identification
Common NameL-gamma-Glutamyl-beta-phenyl-beta-L-alanine
DescriptionL-gamma-Glutamyl-beta-phenyl-beta-L-alanine, also known as L-γ-glutamyl-β-phenyl-β-L-alanine, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as glutamine and derivatives. Glutamine and derivatives are compounds containing glutamine or a derivative thereof resulting from reaction of glutamine at the amino group or the carboxy group, or from the replacement of any hydrogen of glycine by a heteroatom. L-gamma-Glutamyl-beta-phenyl-beta-L-alanine has been detected, but not quantified in, pulses. This could make L-gamma-glutamyl-beta-phenyl-beta-L-alanine a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on L-gamma-Glutamyl-beta-phenyl-beta-L-alanine.
