Identification
HMDB Protein ID HMDBP02151
Secondary Accession Numbers
  • 7634
Name fMet-Leu-Phe receptor
Synonyms
  1. FPR
  2. N-formyl peptide receptor
  3. N-formylpeptide chemoattractant receptor
  4. fMLP receptor
Gene Name FPR1
Protein Type Unknown
Biological Properties
General Function Involved in G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway
Specific Function High affinity receptor for N-formyl-methionyl peptides, which are powerful neutrophils chemotactic factors. Binding of FMLP to the receptor causes activation of neutrophils. This response is mediated via a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system
