HMDB Protein ID HMDBP08093
Secondary Accession Numbers
  • 13804
Name UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase 1
Synonyms
  1. UDP--Glc:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase
  2. UDP-glucose ceramide glucosyltransferase-like 1
  3. UGT1
  4. hUGT1
Gene Name UGGT1
Protein Type Unknown
Biological Properties
General Function Involved in UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase activity
Specific Function Recognizes glycoproteins with minor folding defects. Reglucosylates single N-glycans near the misfolded part of the protein, thus providing quality control for protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum. Reglucosylated proteins are recognized by calreticulin for recycling to the endoplasmic reticulum and refolding or degradation
