Identification
HMDB Protein ID HMDBP12709
Secondary Accession Numbers None
Name Calcitonin receptor
Synonyms
  1. CT-R
Gene Name CALCR
Protein Type Unknown
Biological Properties
General Function Not Available
Specific Function This is a receptor for calcitonin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. The calcitonin receptor is thought to couple to the heterotrimeric guanosine triphosphate-binding protein that is sensitive to cholera toxin.Receptor for calcitonin but is unable to couple to G proteins and activate adenylyl cyclase (PubMed:7476993). Does not undergo receptor internalization following ligand binding (PubMed:7476993).
